Mom called me Thursday from work and said that Landon was having a hard time breathing, and he hadn't drank anything all day! I left work and called the Dr. on my way home to get Landon. Dr. Harless said to meet him at the Hospital, because he was admitting Landon. My heart started racing! I did not want Landon admitted, but if that's what it took to get him better, we will do it. The hardest part was when they took him into the exam room to put his IV in. They let me go with him. I knew it would be better for me if I didn't go, but better for Landon if I did. They laid him down and were trying to find a vein. He was reaching up to me saying, "Mommy, hold me, Mommy!" I cried like a baby, seeing my baby wanting me to pick him up and just hold him, but I couldn't. He was too dehydrated to get the IV in his arm, so they had to move to his foot. They finally got it and I was able to pick him up and just hold him and let him know Mommy was here. We went back to our room and Landon would not let me put him down. Every time a nurse came in, he just squeezed me, which i cant blame him! Friday, the nurse came in and checked his stats. He wasn't breathing good, so they rushed and put him on oxygen. I was so scared. He was having breathing treatments every 4 hours, but it wasn't helping. After a day on oxygen, he started doing good breathing, so they took him off, but kept his breathing treatments. He still wouldn't eat or drink, so when Dr. Harless came in, he gave him some vanilla ice cream, and he ate every bit! That night, about 7:00, he was acting like his old self. He had been real ill, and Dr. Harless said it was the steroids he was on. When Landon woke up Saturday morning, the first thing he said was, "Eat?". The Respiratory Therapist was in there giving him his treatment, and we both couldn't believe it! They brought in his breakfast and he ate a whole pancake and grits! We were so excited! The Dr. came in and said we could go home! YAY! Landon still acts real tired, but he is back to his sweet little self!
