What a MESS!!!

The reason I haven't "blogged" in a while, is because we have a "HUGE" mess! We came home the other Saturday, and opened the door and heard water rushing. We had only been gone about 2 1/2 hours, and I told Dustin that I wasn't washing clothes or anything. As we walked into our house, we seen standing water coming from the dining room and hallway. The hot-water pipe on our water heater busted, and completely soaked our kitchen, laundry room, dining room, and half of our hallway. I immediately called the insurance agency. Me and Dustin worked all night getting up all the water. We used every towel I had, and filled our shop-van up several times with water. Luckily, Dustin's brother, Rowland, is a pipe-welder at Progress Energy, and came right over and fixed it. We kept fans going in our house, hoping our hard wood floors would go back down, but they didn't. We had a company called Steam Masters come over and check our floors. They had something called a "Moisture Meter" which measured water under our floors. Needless to say, when they came over I just thought they were going to place de-humidifiers up and draw extra moisture out. Well, they pulled my floors up in my dining room, living room, and half of my hallway. I was so upset. They said there was way too much water trapped under our floors, to save them. They were worried about mold growing under it. They set up about 12 huge de-humidifiers and had to keep them running for 3 days straight. We couldn't turn them off any. I am thankful that the water didn't reach into my room or Landon's, because we wouldn't have been able to sleep with all the noise. We found out that the don't carry the floor we did have, so now all our floors have to be replaced. We are going to take this opportunity to redo our kitchen as well. We are desperately in need of some new cabinets, so we are going to go ahead and remodel the kitchen. Might as well kill two birds with one stone, right?
