Play-date at the Park

My Monkey!
Mommy and Landon

Mommy and Landon

This scares me! I hate him around water!

My Landon

BIG BOY!!

BEST FRIENDS

When I picked Landon up from school Wednesday, we met Dawn and Bryce at the Park. She went by and got the kids a kids meal and they had lunch and then played! It was so pretty outside. I wish I could have taken the whole day off. I had to go back to work, so Aunt Dawn took Landon to Memaw's house. We can't wait for warmer day so we can play outide all day!

How much smarter can he get?

Me and Landon were sitting on the porch this afternoon, around 6:20, waiting on Dustin to get home. I had a light blanket over us, and we were looking at the moon and stars. Here are 2 conversations that we had:
Landon: Mommy, sing the moon song.
Mommy: Ok. (so I sang the "moon" song, which is the song that starts out, " I see the moon and the moon sees me.....")
Landon: Sing the star song.
Mommy: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?
Landon: No, the other star song?
Mommy: Which one Landon?
Landon: Ugh...I can't remember!!

Landon: Mommy, I seen a spider on the porch the other night.
Mommy: You did?
Landon: Yeah, Daddy has to get that spider. (Because Daddy gets all bugs we find hehe)
Mommy: Yeah, he will get him when he gets home.
Landon: No Mommy, don't get the spider. He's a good boy. He's not mean, he's pretty. He has 2 eyes on his head and alot of legs.

I really enjoy our conversations. He is such a big boy now and it feels good for him to be able to talk to me about his day and what and who he played with. I'm glad he can tell me when he's feeling bad and what's wrong. And I especially like it when he says, "Mommy, you my best friend and my buddy."

We lost something...that we never really had.

It was such a beautiful day today, and I was so glad I had the day off. After me and Landon went to Walmart with Dawn, got some lunch for Landon at Burger King, and played outside for a while, I decided to take Landon to Trevor's grave with me. As I was kneeling beside his grave, thinking about how he would look now, and what he would be doing, Landon looked at me and said, "We got to get Trevor back Mommy. Let's dig him up and take him home with us. We will fight them people so we can get Trevor back." I told Landon that I wish it was that easy. He then said that he had to give Trevor a kiss and then kissed his Angel Statue that we have there. I don't know what makes Landon think of and talk about Trevor so often. I know he misses him. And I don't know why he thought if we got Trevor back, we would have to fight some people. Landon just takes everything in so I guess that he thought that Trevor got stolen from us, which he did. Its like we lost him, but we never really had him. We never had him home with us, out to dinner with us, or shopping. He was in the NICU his whole life...which was 36 days. So I guess that as time goes on, Landon will better understand exactly what happened to his brother. Death is a very complicated thing to understand, even for adults, so I know Landon is confused. I know as Landon gets older, his conversations of Trevor will be less and less, so Me and Dustin enjoy every time Landon mentions his little brother. It actually helps us. We love you Landon, you are a very special and sweet little boy who makes Mommy and Daddy so proud! We love you and miss you Trevor! We are very proud to have you as a son and can't wait to get our hands on you again!

Landon having fun....

Landon has learned to run real fast and then slide across our living room floor! He has such a good time doing this and is an expert! We love to watch him and see how far he goes! He is so silly and loves to make us laugh. He are some pictures of him slidding the other night.

Christmas

Christmas was bitter-sweet this year. We had to celebrate it with Trevor being in Heaven, which was tough. But it was also wonderful because Landon was at the perfect age this year. My camera decided not to work on Christmas morning, so all we got of Landon waking up and opening presents from Santa was on our video camera. I did get some of him at Dustin's parents house, and the camera decided to work again on our way out the door to Christmas Dinner with my family. We had a very busy Christmas this year. We had Christmas Eve with my family the Saturday before Christmas, dinner and presents at My Grandparents Tuesday, Christmas with Dustin's parents Wednesday, Christmas Eve with his family Thursday, Christmas with my parents on Christmas Day, Dinner with my family Christmas Day and supper with Dustin's family that night! We were extra busy this year! We had a blast! Landon got so much toys and clothes! Landon wanted a train set and Dinosaurs and Santa did not disappoint him! He had the biggest train set we could find at Toys R us, that even came with a remote control and had Dinosaurs that could stomp and roar. He got so much! I can't wait until next year! My favorite thing I got this year was a watch with Trevor and Landon's birthstones and with a charm that has both of their names engraved in it. I love it! We love spending time with our family and we both couldn't ask for better ones! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas as well!

He's THREE already??????

I cannot believe that Landon is already 3 years old. Where does the time go? It seems like it was yesterday that we brought him home from the Hospital on Christmas Day. We had a small birthday party for himwith family and friends. His one request was to have a "bat cake". I went to CJ's and we planned out the perfect cake, but I told them it HAD to have a bat on it. Well, it didn't turn out like I wanted, but Landon loved it! That was all that mattered! Landon is such a smart three year old. He was potty trained at 2 1/2, he can say his ABC's, sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jesus loves me, Jingle Bells, BINGO, and many more. He LOVES Sports, any kind, but his favorites are Baseball and Football. He has been hitting a ball with a bat since he was able to walk. He can make every single basket when he plays Basketball with his Daddy. He is definetly a boy all the way, very tough. He loves to wrestle with Daddy, but loves to hug and kiss on Mommy. We bought him a baseball tee, real bat and balls, and a glove for his birthday and it was his favorite thing by far! We had to set it up as soon as we got home! He loves watching cartoons. His favorite shows on Noggin are "The Upside Down Show," "WOW WOW Wuzzby," and Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. He also loves to watch anything to do with "bad guys" and monsters(like Scooby-Doo, nothing too scary). He loves his Aunt Dawn and Unlce Rowland. His favorite cousins to play with are still Summer, Bryce, and Dakota. When he walks in the door at home, the first thing he wants to do is take his socks and shoes off. He loves his new big boy bed and has to show everyone when they come over, even if they have already seen it before. He loves sleeping in as well, which is a plus for Mommy and Daddy! So Happy 3rd Birthday my sweet Landon! We can't wait to watch you grow up and become a wonderful person! We love you!

2K Birthday Party

"Happy Birthday to you...."

Landon celebrated his 3rd Birthday Party at school with all his friends. He had a blast and all the kids were so wonderful. They sang him the Birthday song and ate cupcakes, pretzels, and drank juice. They were so cute! He was super excited that he got to wear the Birthday hat too!

Trevor talks to Jesus....

I thought I would share this story with y'all... Last night, Dustin was kneeling beside the bed with Landon as he said his prayers. Dustin called me in the room, and told Landon to tell me what he just prayed. This is what Landon said, "Mommy, Trevor talks with Jesus. Trevor is my brother and he is going night night for a while, but he is with Jesus. He talks to Jesus." Me and Dustin just looked at each other and smiled. Landon was so right. Trevor is in Heaven, and I'm sure Jesus talks to him every day. I feel sure that Jesus tells Trevor that his mommy, daddy, and brother miss him very much. I can just see Jesus holding Trevor now, and Trevor looking up at Him. I can't wait for that day when I can finally see Trevor again. The last week has been really hard on me and Dustin. I can't sleep at night, and we will just lay in the bed and talk about how different our lives would be if Trevor was still with us. We laugh thinking that he would be right in the middle of our bed, getting all our love and attention, as well as Landon's. I have woken myself up several times this week hollaring Trevor's name. Dustin will just reach over and grab my hand until we both fall back asleep. I would give anything to have this pain in my heart to go away for just 1 minute. But I know it's not. My heart will never be whole again, I mean, my child is not here with me. I know he is alive in Heaven, and doing so much better that we are down here, but I still miss him. I still want him. I still need him. So, until then, I will constantly be reminded that Trevor isn't dead, but alive. And we will have him again...one day.
